This may sound weird but I think it varies. In CE for sure it was blue, but in other halos it is purple, like halo reach... I think

Yeah, I guess it does. Halopedia says: “ Dark blue/purple (Halo: Combat Evolved), purple (Halo 2 and Halo 3)”

What if an Elites blood is really red, but when it comes into contact with oxygen it becomes blue/purple.
