Those Two Guys and its sequels center around the misadventures of two soldiers, Carlos Giuseppe and Jim Branson. Most of the action takes place on a distant, isolated (non-canon) planet called Gelida VII, a planet mired in ancient magics and mysterious technologies, where these two heroes and their friends fight for the fate of the planet, the universe, and at times, all of existence.

This series is also part of the much larger 'Mega-Verse' collaboration, a series of fan comics that all take place within the same shared continuity. While my comics sometimes refer to events from the other 'Mega-Verse' comics, and occasionally feature cameos from other 'Mega-Verse' characters (we also have the upcoming Battle of Antares, a major crossover event between our comics), you don't necessarily need to have read the other 'Mega-Verse' stories to understand and follow my series. ([The Mega-Verse topic, which can be found here: https://www.megaconstrux.com/en-us/comm ... =24&t=3785 contains an in-depth timeline of the connected series).

For newcomers to my series, I understand that there's a lot of material to sift through, so for those who don't have the time or patience to catch up on every single individual chapter of my past comics, I've prepared these recaps to cover the basics, allowing you to catch up to current events more easily.

ONI: You know them, you love to hate them. They’re the shady spies of the Halo universe.

Marco Giuseppe: 25 years old, son of Lucio and Emilia, older brother of Carlos. Cruel, efficient, and kind of a jerk. His loyalty to ONI is second only to his loyalty to his family, and after the death of his mother, he abandoned ONI to be with his father… a decision that may yet cost him his life.

Elizabeth Maxwell: 22 years old, daughter of Jeremiah Maxwell. Marco’s overzealous second in command, whose loyalty to her superior led to her following him right onto the rogue agent registry… or so it appeared. In reality, her association with Marco was an official assignment from her father.

Jeremiah Maxwell: 56 years old, father of Elizabeth Maxwell. A high-ranking officer within ONI, Jeremiah operates on the ‘business’ side of the agency, gaining and maintaining corporate alliances on the behalf of ONI. One of his many acquisitions over the years was Lucio Giuseppe’s flagship company G-Corp; with Lucio now dead, Jeremiah, as the lead stockholder, has seized the company for himself, and seems intent on eliminating anyone who can challenge his claim to leadership.

Overseer Aurelius: [CLASSIFIED]. Aurelius is head of the ‘Silencers’, a small team within ONI whose job is to conceal bodies, destroy evidence, discredit witnesses, divert blame, or whatever else ONI requires them to do in order to ensure a tidy coverup. In all of his many years overseeing these operations, Aurelius has only failed once: when he tried to put General Seth Blight on trial for the events of the Gelida Crisis. Although it was Lucio Giuseppe who ensured that Blight escaped charges, Blight is still the one Aurelius hates.

MrJustin412: [CLASSIFIED]. This brutal, merciless Spartan serves as Aurelius’ muscle, completing tasks that Aurelius lacks the strength and prowess to accomplish himself.

GreenSpartan082: [CLASSIFIED]. Aurelius’ right-hand man, Agent 082 is a callous, impatient operator. He has little regard for subtlety or niceties, preferring to simply get on with the task at hand. [Power Level: 23]

ONI Oversight Division: A covert sub-branch of ONI, tasked with overseeing and supervising the missions and agents of the main organisation. They operate independently and with almost limitless authority, outranking most other officers in other divisions. However, their team is small, and therefore, their influence is limited, so they tend to intervene only in the most extreme of situations.

Carlos Giuseppe: 23 years old, son of Lucio and Emilia, younger brother of Marco. Formerly a private in the UNSC marines, until he resigned from military service and went rogue. He resurfaced after the death of his mother, and was eventually recruited into the ONI Oversight Division, where he was partnered with Agent Meridian. While he was reportedly a capable, obedient soldier during his time with the UNSC, he has since exhibited a more serious demeanour, and a disregard for lawful expectations and conventions. After losing his mother, several of his friends, being forced to kill his own father, and spending time trapped in a desolate alternate reality, many concerns have been raised about whether he’s in a fit mental state to continue missions.

Marcella “Quandary” Jones: Exact age and family status unknown, although she has exhibited a close, almost motherly bond, with the Meridian sisters. As head agent of the ONI Oversight Division, Quandary’s job consists of sending spies to spy on other spies and as such, she’s as ruthless as she is generous, and as insightful as she is deceitful. Most importantly, however, she is extremely close with her team, taking great pains to get to know each of her agents on a personal level. She has complete faith in the capabilities of her agents, but when the situation calls for it, she’s fully capable of holding her own right beside them on the battlefield.

Gena Grey: 29 years old, orphaned with no siblings. Captain of the ONI Oversight Division’s one-of-a-kind command ship, Gena is something of a grumpy aunt to the team. She’s been with the division since before Quandary took charge, and still grumbles every now and then about the ‘good old days’ when the team had more members and a bigger budget.

Amelia Isabella Meridian: 23 years old, orphaned, older sister of Angeline. Better known as ‘Agent AIM’, most of her pre-ONI background is classified, but ever since joining the team at age 20, Amy has been the shining star of the Oversight Division, excelling in operations. That said, she’s still naïve and headstrong, with a preference for rolling solo, traits that have gotten her into more than her fair share of trouble over the years. Her involvement with Carlos Giuseppe has helped ground her, somewhat, with their equally brash attitudes helping them to keep each other in check during missions. Some have worried that her closeness with Carlos may be clouding her judgement somewhat, but those who know her better are all too happy to point out that she was reckless long before meeting Carlos.

Angeline Regina Meridian: 21 years old, orphaned, younger sister of Amelia. Better known as ‘Angi the engi’, she serves as the team’s chief engineer. Despite being too young for field work, she joined the team at the same time Amy did, which gave her several years to learn the ins and outs of the command ship, training under the previous chief engineer. During a space battle, a stray missile struck the engine compartment, killing the previous engineer, and badly wounding Angi. Despite losing part of her arm, and suffering burn scars to her face, she stuck with the team after she recovered, although she now rarely leaves the ship.

Strike Team Firebrand: After Jim Branson rose to prominence as a local hero, he was assigned command of a small strike team. This squad is often in a state of flux, with members being lost and replaced at a fairly regular basis. Despite this, Firebrand remains an organised, unified unit, loyal to the UNSC cause, and resolute in their ideals.

Jim Branson: 23 years old, son of the now-deceased General Bradford Branson. Formerly a private in the UNSC marines, where he was partnered with Carlos Giuseppe, Jim was appointed head of a specialised, independent task force dedicated to dealing with the surviving “Super Flood”. While he was known to be a bit of a clown during his time as a marine, he has become a lot more focused and attentive, leading his team with skill and precision in a number of successful operations. However, the loss of his father has had a severe impact on him, and only time will tell what the long-term consequences of this loss might be for Jim and his team. Although others put a lot of faith in him, he’s always felt that he’s out of his depth, now more than ever.

Anya Branson: 26 years old, daughter of Bradford Branson, and older sister to Jim. Anya is an overwhelmingly mediocre operative, scoring average marks during training, achieving satisfactory results in missions, and overall, not doing much except the bare minimum. Many of her superiors and teammates have attested that she has the potential to accomplish more than this, but it’s unclear what might motivate her to do so. Even after the death of her father, her behaviour has remained largely unchanged. Not even following the orders of her younger brother seems to bother her.

Marius Marks: 31 years old, family history unknown. Marius joined the UNSC at 18, working his way up the ranks, and serving as a front line sniper in the marine corps during the closing days of the Human-Covenant war. Eventually, he moved on to be trained as an ODST, and was assigned to Jim’s team shortly before the Necropolis incident. Unbeknownst to Jim, Marius was appointed to join the team by General Branson himself, with specific instructions to keep Jim safe. Even now that the General is dead, Marius has devoted himself to diligently following those orders.

CC Browning: Age and family history unknown. Little is known about this man’s background, save for his skill in combat, and fascination with brute tactics and tech. His Reach-era EVA armour is a testament to how long he’s been in service, and Jim is just another in a long line of commanders he’s served under over the years. He has no personal stake in the personal struggles that plague some of his teammates; to him, this is just another standard assignment.

Admiral Sabree: Age, family status, and general history are all unknown. Admiral Sabree is, in a word, a mystery. No records of him exist in UNSC databases or ONI archives. No one’s exactly sure who he is, when he got trained, or where he got his hands on a full, functioning suit of Spartan armour… nor does anyone know how he’s able to wear it. Despite his enigmatic status, his talent in battle is undeniable, and therefore his presence in Jim’s team has been reluctantly accepted by UNSC and ONI officials.

Bianca Vargas: 27, family records redacted. Bianca joined the UNSC through the science division, fascinated by alien technology and weapons. Eventually, though, she grew tired of her studies, and realised it was far more fun to disassemble aliens with their own guns. She joined the Spartan program late, leaving her with only the pink suit that no one else had wanted. She took that in stride, however, and remains an extremely efficient field operative.
__________________________________________________________________________________

Fireteam Cobalt: While they aren’t nearly as accomplished or as famous as the Master Chief’s own Blue Team, this squad is equally steadfast in its desire to do good, and represents a formidable force on any battlefield.

Rachel Tamara: 24 years old, familial history classified. Calm and capable leader of Gelida’s blue team, Rachel had served loyally in the UNSC for several years before she and her team were assigned to the ill-fated Necropolis mission on Gelida. It was there that she met Jim Branson, and after working together for a time, the two became romantically involved, although their duties as leaders of separate teams often keep them apart.

Mark Mason: 25 years old, familial history classified. He’s been Rachel’s best friend since long before they joined the UNSC, often thinking of her as younger sister in need of his protection, despite the fact that she’s just as capable a fighter as he is, and that she outranks him. He’s a bold combatant, preferring to take on enemies at close range with a BR or shotgun, and has been known to literally tackle larger targets like hunters and vehicles, in order to plant grenades on them.

Dereck Pharrell: 36 years old, no known family. A veteran of many battles, Pharrell was rendered mute by a battlefield injury many years ago. He’s unwaveringly obedient, and specialises in sidearms such as the SMG and magnum.

Kiki Silva: 24 years old, familial history classified. Rachel’s unofficial second in command, Silva is something of a lone wolf. As the team’s designated scout/sniper, she often breaks off from the main squad to sneak behind enemy lines, or find a better location to snipe from. That said, she’s proven herself fully capable of holding her own in a close quarters fight, wielding her kukri knife with ruthless competence.

Harold Helm: 34, orphaned, no siblings. One of the lesser-known members of the team, this flame marine is rarely sent out on missions – not because he’s bad at fighting, but because the team’s operations usually require a little more finesse than his flamethrower can offer. When he is taken out on missions, however, he proves his worth with fiery efficiency.

Melanie Zellner: 24 years old, familial history classified. Another of Rachel’s childhood friends, this Argus-armoured Spartan has modelled much of her tactics after her team leader. Like Rachel, she specialises in the use of the battle rifle, and Melanie often takes point alongside Rachel during combat operations.
__________________________________________________________________________________

Olive Squad: While they’re not the biggest team around, or the toughest, this team somehow always manages to wind up caught right in the middle of the action at just the right time. Unfortunately, this hasn’t always ended well for them, with two former members of their team having recently been killed in action. In spite of this, the team members who remain do their best to get by, and honour the memory of their fallen friends with every successful mission.

Spartan Z19: 28 years old, family connections unknown. Formerly a General, Z19 was placed in charge of the salvaged ‘Super Flood’ investigation on Gelida. After the specimens escaped, however, he was stripped of his position as General, and demoted to team leader of the rag-tag band of misfits that is Green Team. Although he harbours some resentment towards his superiors for this maltreatment, he has nonetheless embraced his new role.

Charlie Bucket: 23 years old, no records exist of his family or past. Charlie is the only remaining member of the original Green Team (alongside Roke77 and Zarry, both deceased), a fact that weighs on him constantly. After the death of Roke, he took some of his fallen friend’s weapons and armour, and helped hunt down Zarry. Now, he serves dutifully in his new team, honouring the memory of his fallen comrades.

DBMAN: Age, family, and history unknown. A defector from a defunct covenant cell, this elite took on the moniker DBMAN, and sided with the UNSC against his former comrades. He specialises in heavy weaponry, such as flamethrowers and Gatling guns.

Robowarrior: 28, no known relatives. Known more affectionately as Rob, this poor pilot is in way over his head, and he knows it. But this hasn’t stopped him from getting dragged along on all kind of crazy adventures. He generally uses the battle rifle, although he’s been known to use rocket launchers as well.

Corrivalis: An AI unit designed for strategic planning and tactical analysis. Manifests as a blue-hued hologram of a Reach-era Spartan.
__________________________________________________________________________________

UNSC: These characters are also affiliated with the UNSC, but aren’t part of any specific team.

Pilot Jerome: 26, unremarkable background. A simple civilian contractor on Gelida, he was forcibly conscripted into aiding the UNSC cause when the majority of their forces withdrew from the planet, leaving him as one of only two certified pilots on the surface. Suffice to say, his services were in high demand, and he’s not enjoying any of the attention.

Jason 397a: [Records Unavailable] One of the more enigmatic operatives on Gelida, no one is exactly sure what rank this soldier holds, which branch of the military he works for, or what it is that he actually does on the planet. However, it is an undeniable fact that he has a tendency to wind up right in the thick of things, just as those who work with him have a tendency to die tragically on the field of battle.

Commander Greer: 28 years old, no known family. Mason Greer is more than just a soldier, he’s a survivor. Against all odds, he’s walked away alive from every mission, even when dozens of his fellow ODST have met their end in his wake. He’s implacable, unstoppable, but he bears the weight of all those who have died so he can live. Burdened by this guilt, he prefers to only carry out solo missions, so he can avoid having to watch anyone else give their life on his behalf.

Agent Mako: 25, all other data classified. Although she holds a rank within ONI, and bears the moniker of Agent, the ODST known only as Mako is more of a free agent. She specialises in long-range assassinations, although she’s also talented in pistol combat for close-quarters encounters. Currently, she's assigned to work with the Oversight Division on Gelida, but was recently sent to Antares to aid Jim Branson and Commander Greer.

General Bradford Branson: [Deceased]. Father of Anya and Jim. Bradford first made his mark on the history books when he led the Vanguard movement during the Battle of Gorna Pass. After many adventures during the Human-Covenant war, Branson settled down and raised two children, both of whom followed in his footsteps and took up careers in the military. Eventually, with war looming again, he acquiesced to the demands of his old friends, and returned to the fold. When he learned his son was in trouble, he set out personally to help him, a decision that eventually cost him his life, when his former friend Lucio Giuseppe quite literally stabbed him in the back. He is missed by many.

Rodrik Branson: [Deceased]. Younger brother of Bradford. Rodrik, as far as anyone can tell, has no official rank or affiliation with ONI or the UNSC. Unofficially, however, he’s a man of immense influence and intelligence. He fought alongside his brother during the Battle of Gorna Pass, and has worked closely with many other powerful figures since then. Although he’s now at an age when he really shouldn’t be doing field work, he looks far younger than he is, thanks to numerous experimental surgeries. With his brother gone, he is intent on protecting what little family he has left: Anya and Jim. He met his end shortly after the fall of Talon Sigma, at the hands of Zaal ‘Varim.

Jeremy Miles: [Classified] An accomplished soldier with an extensive record, General Miles is the current commanding officer of the strategic outpost Sigma Talon on Antares Prime, tasked with defending the base and overseeing all local operations. While he presents himself with a jovial demeanour, his psychological profile presents a man lacking in empathy; troops under his command have casualty rates far higher than most of his peers, and he exhibits no guilt or remorse for the lives lost under his ‘guidance’.

Joe Filmes: [Classified] General Miles’ second in command, this Spartan has little in the way of conscience or ambition, preferring to simply follow the orders of his commander. He wields an energy sword with practiced skill, and has a cybernetic arm.

Commander ‘Knightstalker’: 28, background unknown. The imperious, regimented commander of the forces stationed at Sigma Talon, this man is wholly devoted to following orders, adhering to the chain of command without question or hesitation. He has nothing but disdain for those who try to think outside the box, or find ‘a better way’ to deal with an issue in defiance of their existing orders.

Captain Lisha Thorne: 25, unremarkable background. A prominent figure among the UNSC personnel stationed at Talon Sigma, Captain Thorne is a practical, quick-thinking commander, who values the lives of those under her command above any other priority. She was assigned to the outpost primarily to help balance out the more inflexible, uncaring preferences of General Miles.

Jaida Hadley: Age 31. Both of Jaida’s parents served in the UNSC during the first human-Covenant war… and neither of them survived it, leaving her with an overwhelming desire to prove her worth and live up to their sacrifice. Jaida serves as captain of the Cobalt Dawn, making her little more than a glorified chauffeur for Greer.

Sidney Delphine: 34, family history unknown. This cybernetically-enhanced Sergeant is Captain Hadley’s right hand, serving her loyally.

Bal ‘Narom: Having lost several of his family members to the follies of the Covenant, this young elite chose to remain on Earth after the end of the first human-Covenant war, rather than return to Sanghelios. He was effectively ‘adopted’ by the UNSC, where he formed many friendships with soldiers and Spartans.

Zel ‘Camor: Zel’s clan were loyal to the Covenant cause until the very end, driving them to the verge of extinction, with only two survivors – two daughters, opposite as day and night, save for their equal disdain for Sangheili society. The younger of these two sisters, Zel wandered for many months, searching for meaning and purpose, before eventually finding her way back to her childhood friend, Bal. She doesn’t share his faith and friendship towards humanity, feeling uncomfortable in the company of the UNSC, but she is wholly loyal to Bal.
__________________________________________________________________________________

Insurrectionists: residents of human colonies who have openly rebelled against the rule of Earth and the UNSC.

Davis ‘Manticore’ Mangrove: 46, family deceased. Leader of the so-called ‘Hybrid cell’ on the planet of Sliver Septum, this disgruntled UNSC veteran lost part of his arm during a battle with the Covenant. He was given a cheap prosthetic, a paltry severance payment, and discarded by the UNSC on a medical discharge. Embittered, he returned home, stewing in his discontent. When the war ended, he gathered up a group of other ex-military operators and struck out against his former employees, blowing up a UNSC compound while its soldiers were out on parade commemorating the end of the war. Though no one was hurt in the attack, the act didn’t sit well with one particular local, who had only very recently retired from UNSC life: Bradford Branson. Bradford donned his armour for what he’d intended to be the last time, and lead the local UNSC in flushing out Manticore and his collaborators. Manticore was originally believed to have been killed in the ensuing battle, but rumours abound that he went into hiding, gathering more supporters for something big.

Carl ‘Chimera’ Kendrick: 28, no familial connections of note. One of Manticore’s staunchest lieutenants, Chimera is a master strategist and marksman who favours a DMR.

Harriet ‘Harpy’ Harper: 27, family deceased. One of Manticore’s more recent recruits, Harpy lost her husband and two children to a roving band of Covenant Remnant, who the UNSC had been ‘too busy’ to deal with. Unlike most of the other ‘Hybrids’, who use salvaged UNSC tech, she wields dual needlers she took from the Covenant who killed her family.

Steven ‘Sphinx’ Henson: formerly a police officer on Earth, Sphinx turned his back on the UNSC after their profound failure to protect the Earth during the human-Covenant war. He still wears his police-issue body armour, and wields a battle rifle.

Denizens: The twisted, tormented inhabitants of The Timeless Plains.

Oracle: [Deceased] One of oldest inhabitants of the Plains, the being known only as Oracle sees himself as a bringer of truth, one whose word is law. He makes it his task to mandate these laws to all those who arrive in the Timeless Plains. In doing so, he believes he is preserving the status quo, when in truth all he is doing is perpetuating a cycle of brutality and ceaseless violence. Although he believes the Timeless Plains were always a realm of war and madness, and there is nothing that can be done to change that, the sad truth is that it was he who made it this way, and he who is keeping it that way. Although he managed to maintain shaky alliances with other inhabitants of the Plains, he was eventually betrayed and killed by Tivus.

Wayfinder: The being calling himself Wayfinder arrived in the Plains at the same time Oracle did, and the pair have worked together ever since. Over time, their memories of home, family, and identity faded to nothing, until all they had left were the titles and purposes they had created for themselves. The Wayfinder makes it his task to roam the Plains, and rescue new arrivals, so that they can be brought to the Oracle to be ‘educated’. After having a falling-out with his former friend, Wayfinder struck off on his own.

Tivus: One of the most prolific Warlords to prowl the Plains, Tivus is as charismatic as he is cruel, and will devote all of his resources to destroying anyone who irks him in even the slightest way. He has little regard for the lives of his men, and cares even less about the lives of anyone else. Although he’s perfectly adept with guns, his preferred weapon of choice is a coil of chain with a hook on the end, which he can use to grapple or mutilate enemies.

Felix: Second in command to Tivus, Felix is far less human than he appears, and is something of a cockroach (metaphorically speaking) – through skill and cunning, or just dumb luck, he always manages to weasel his way out of every situation.
__________________________________________________________________________________

ATLAS-N: Originally from another universe entirely, this branch of ATLAS were sent forward in time, and sideways through dimensions, when their version of Project VORTEX was damaged. The group ultimately split, with half teaming up with Lucio Giuseppe to pursue a means to return to their home universe, and the other half striking off on their own.

Commander: Modelled on Nato from the original Project VORTEX series, though not explicitly referred to by name, the Commander is an unwaveringly loyal, determined man, willing to do whatever it takes to protect his men. Alas, his brutal ‘means justify the ends’ approach to problems make his motives appear far more villainous than he’d wish.

Corsic: Corsic was one of the many members of ATLAS-N who sided with the Commander, but was separated from the group before they were banished to the Timeless Plains. He’s been working towards his own goals ever since, forging alliances with the Banished and the Harvesters… although his intended endgame remains unclear.

Cassian: The self-proclaimed leader of the ATLAS-N cell that struck off on their own, Cassian is a pretentious, petty man who always prioritises his own selfish needs over the wellbeing of those under his command. Although this has led to more than few conflicts with his followers, his skill in combat has allowed him to retain his position of power.

Cromwell: The roguish assassin of the ATLAS-N splinter group, he used to be a close friend of Corsic, and while he doesn’t particularly like Cassian, he relishes in any opportunity to ply his personal trade of taking lives – and Cassian provides him with plenty of opportunities to do exactly that.
__________________________________________________________________________________

Loyalists: At the time of the battle of Antares, most of the disparate factions of alien races have been united under the rule of Rocar Enpara, who seeks to consolidate them into a new Covenant order… and destroy humanity along the way. The characters below are those who are wholly loyal to him and his cause.

Argustus (AKA Ripper): This high-ranking jiralhanae general has a rather bizarre concept of honour – he rarely uses guns, instead preferring to dispatch his enemies in melee combat. How he’s survived this long employing that strategy is anyone’s guess (although the Hunter he keeps as a personal bodyguard might have something to do with it). Despite his strange approach to one on one battles, ‘Ripper’ is nonetheless a cunning commander, possessed of a tactical intelligence far above that of the average brute.

Monolith: The Hunter who serves as Argustus’ personal bodyguard/muscle, little is known about this being’s history or origins. Its counterpart is believed to be deceased, and it seems to have adopted Argustus as its new bonded partner, although its deference to him suggests that it may also owe him a debt of some kind.

Mortem ‘Evollo: Devoutly loyal to Rocar, Mortem is a callous, cunning commander. He sees those under his command as largely disposable – in his view, if his troops fall in battle, then they were too weak to survive anyway, and are therefore unimportant. Mortem himself is a force to be reckoned with, with or without a squad by his side. He prefers to fight up close, wielding a modified energy sword, and his armour has been augmented so that his energy shields don’t simply deflect attacks, but absorb their kinetic energy, gradually boosting his own strength, or allowing him to unleash that built-up energy in a singular pulse.

Qolum ‘Thira: Hailing from a distant Sangheili colony system, Qolum’s home planet had significantly greater size and gravity than most others inhabited by his species, its colonists gradually evolving to become bigger and stronger over several generations. Compared to the average Sangheili, Qolum is a *** being, noticeably taller and bulkier, with hardened leathery skin, and a savagery in battle more akin to that of a Jiralhanae. While he’s capable of using firearms, and carries an energy sword, he prefers to fight his battles using brute strength and barbarity. He, like his compatriot Mortem, is one of Rocar’s prominent commanders.
__________________________________________________________________________________

Banished: Beholden to the rule and Will of Atriox, this brute-led faction split off from, and outlived, the original Covenant Empire. Having consolidated their power of the intervening years, the Banished have since set their sights on The Ark, although they have diverted some of their resources to assisting Rocar’s cause.

Grarl (AKA Fletch): One of Atriox’s trusted lieutenants within the ranks of the Banished, Fletch is an accomplished combat pilot, and one of the few brutes to hold the title of Shipmaster. He has little interest in gore or battle, preferring to annihilate his enemies from a distance from the comfort of his ship, or at range with his bow. However, like many brutes, he still enjoys the thrill of the hunt.

Sevv ‘Helyr (AKA Savage): An elite who serves as Fletch’s lieutenant, ‘Savage’ has thoroughly earned his moniker. Brandishing a concussion rifle and menacing assortment of blades and spikes, Sevv prides himself on inflicting maximum suffering.

Bliizar (AKA Yeti): A ranking Banished commander, Bliizar specialises in operating on snowy terrain, leading small guerrilla units on hit-and-run missions. Unlike some among his species, he’s amiable with beings of other races, believing that far-reaching alliances with unlikely allies will ultimately be the key to victory for those he serves. He has close ties with the Harvesters, and is a confidante of Corsic.

Shipmistress Fey: Eager to prove herself every bit as capable as the males of her species, Fey is extremely merciless in engagements, whether they be on the surface or in space. She has no regard for combat etiquette, accepts no surrenders, and refuses to respect ceasefires. The only victory conditions she’ll accept is the retreat or defeat of her enemies.
__________________________________________________________________________________

Dark Grasp: Devoted to immoral scientific endeavours and exploitation of the ancient magics of the universe, this offshoot has steadily been growing in prominence within the ranks of Rocar Enpara’s army. Led by (and named for) the Blackhand, this faction has thus far remained loyal to Rocar’s cause, but only time will tell if his vision will be enough to sate the cabal’s hunger for power.

Varn ‘Doram, (AKA, The Blackhand): Once a low-ranking lieutenant among the other elites, Varn has clawed his way to prominence. He’s said to be one of the most skilled snipers to ever emerge from the ranks of the Covenant, and is a talented pilot, in addition to his knack for surviving situations that would spell the end for lesser beings. Many years ago, he briefly crossed paths with Bradford Branson, during which he acquired the injury that earned him the nickname he now wears with pride: The Blackhand. He now serves as recruiter of sorts, gathering former Covenant leaders from across the galaxy together under one banner. Despite his prominent position in the united Covenant armies, his unbridled ambition still remains unsatisfied, manifesting as a desire to conquer the supernatural powers of the galaxy, and bend them to his will.

Cath ‘Camor: Loyal to the Covenant cause until the very end, the Camor clan’s faith brought them to the verge of extinction, with only two survivors – two daughters, opposite as day and night, save for their equal disdain for Sangheili society. The older of these two sisters, Cath wandered for many years, searching for belonging and purpose… until she was found by Varn. Equal in intellect and ambition, the pair were destined to become rivals and partners in equal measure, their competitiveness driving them to attain new heights, together and apart. Inevitably, their closeness blossomed into a romantic relationship, and although some may argue that this is a weakness that could be used against them, they vocally, violently disagree.

Bralgore (AKA Crimson): This brute chieftain values the simple things in life, believing the ability to take the life of another is the greatest power any being can hold. He has no interest in complex strategies or intricate machinations, and though he won’t even pretend to comprehend any of the sciences or magics his companions have been experimenting with, he understands all too well how much more powerful these experiments could make him, and is content to serve as the Dark Grasp’s muscle in exchange for a share of that power.

Yhil ‘Gzared (AKA, Patches): A scientist whose body is more metal than flesh at this point, ‘Patches’ has always served his own interests above all else. He specialises in genetic manipulation, and was the lead mind behind Zaal’s original Super Flood experiments.

Zaal ‘Varim: Some might call Zaal unlucky. This would be an understatement. Once a proud, powerful General in the Covenant army, he remained loyal to the prophet’s cause even after the hierarchs betrayed his people. He eagerly joined Jul Mdama’s Covenant Remnant, and managed to salvage a significant number of troops and equipment after Jul’s demise. But once he made his way to Gelida, things went from bad to worse, with the loss of many of his followers, including his son. However, for every failure and misfortune the universe has thrown his way, his strength and ferocity have only grown.
__________________________________________________________________________________

The Harvesters: Born from the ashes of the fallen Covenant empire, the Harvesters are a faction unlike any other. They follow no faith, and adhere to no ideology. They pride themselves solely on their prowess in battle, and their ability to take what they please from those less powerful than themselves.

Ormentus: Like all brutes, Ormentus is immensely strong and savage, but he possesses an intellectual capacity beyond that of most of his kind. He’s as cunning as he is ferocious, armed with a keen intellect and a chillingly charismatic demeanour. He wields rumour and reputation as effectively as he wields his gravity mace, and is proficient in intimidation tactics and psychological warfare.

Ezkos: This cyborg brute is rarely seen far from Ormentus’ side. He serves as something of a mix between enforcer and executioner, punishing those who fail in their duties, and eliminating those who draw Ormentus’ ire.

Spindle: Ormentus’ most trusted lieutenant, Spindle prefers to do most of his work solo, and is often sent on infiltration or assassination missions, rather than leading troops.

Scythe:
A Covenant Remnant commander that Spindle was once sent to assassinate, this elite proved able to match his attacker blow for blow, the arrival of reinforcements eventually forcing Spindle to retreat. Months later, following the death of Jul ‘Mdama and the dissolution of the Covenant Remnant, the elite who would come to adopt the name ‘Scythe’ approached the Harvesters, where Spindle vouched for his recruitment, eventually taking Scythe on as his second in command.

Beyl & Vren ‘Franar: Spindle’s most trusted assassins, these black-armoured brothers employ different methods, but are equally deadly. Beyl is adept with bladed weapons, but is just as dangerous while fighting unarmed, thanks to the crushing strength afforded by his mechanical prosthetic legs. Vren, by contrast, is a skilled marksman, capable of utilising almost any conventional firearm with unerring accuracy.

Vil & Grek ‘Virrok: These two elites have earned their place in Ormentus’ inner circle in different ways. The younger, Vil, is a capable tactician, whereas his brother Grek is mindlessly vicious, known for carving ragged swathes of desolation through enemy forces. Working together, the duo are a force to be reckoned with. [Power Levels: 40]
Snyvel: A conniving, feral fighter with no qualms about employing underhanded tactics, this jackal prides himself on his unpredictability. Small and fast, he usually serves as a scout, leading small hit-and-run squads to harass enemy patrols and supply lines.

Ziikl: Cast out from her hive society for daring to question the command of her queen, this ‘unmutual’ drone found her way to the Harvesters, and worked long and hard to earn her high rank among them.

Sliv ‘Ergol: A recent recruit to the Harvester ranks, this crimson-armoured elite is eager to prove himself, and wields dual blades with ruthless delight. After Corsic offered to ally himself with the Harvesters, Sliv was tasked with assisting him in his efforts.

Tel ‘Yargol: This elite isn’t a soldier, or a strategist. He’s a warrior, savage and scarred, serving as little more than Ormentus’ personal attack dog. When Ormentus or one of his lieutenants wishes to test the strength of a new recruit, it’s Tel that they will face.

The Leviathan: Whereas most Hunters adopt a more humanoid form, this amalgamative monster has chosen to take on a serpentine shape, not dissimilar to the worm creatures from which its body is composed. Encased in reinforced armour, and armed with a fuel rod cannon, Leviathan is the Harvesters’ ultimate living weapon.

Minos: The oldest of Ormentus’ living children, Minos has also proven to be the most disappointing. Burly and belligerent, his defining trait is his unimaginative simple-mindedness. He lacks the mental fortitude to conceive plans or strategies, preferring to simply crush all that stand in his path. As such, his father rarely allows him off the ship, keeping him busy by placing him in charge of the slave pens and the arena.

Asidios: The middle child of Ormentus’ brood, Asidios inherited too much cunning, and not enough common sense. Constantly conniving for ways to overthrow his father and seize control of the Harvesters for himself (with a distinct lack of success thus far), he has become a persistent, but minor, annoyance. While he’s a proven warrior, his tactics are cowardly. and his friends are few.

Artemys: The youngest of Ormentus’ known children, Artemys was born premature, leaving her small, pale, and fragile. Many assumed Ormentus would simply let her die, but he proved more merciful than many had imagined, devoting every resource at hand to ensure his child’s survival. The choice, while controversial at the time, proved worthwhile, as Artemys grew over the years in size, strength, and smarts, becoming the perfect protégé to her father’s legacy, able to match both wits and weapons with the toughest of Ormentus’ lieutenants. Much to the chagrin of her siblings, she swiftly claimed her place as her father’s favourite child, and, perhaps someday, his eventual successor as leader of the Harvesters.

Other: Unaffiliated characters with no loyalty or allegiance, these guys tend to work for the highest bidder, whoever they think is going to win, or themselves. Some are evil, some are good, and some are… something else entirely.

‘Relict’: [Deceased]. Once a leading researcher in a classified scientific initiative within ONI, the man now known only as Relict was involved in a great many experiments. However, his ultimate ambition was to unlock the secret of human immortality, a goal he pursued relentlessly. After his wife died before he could complete his research, he went mad with grief, unleashing his experiments and destroying the lab, before gathering a team of mercenaries and fleeing to Gelida, where he used the unique biology of the ‘Super-Flood’ to synthesise a new immortality serum. He was successful, but much of his research was later destroyed, and he was eventually killed for good by Carlos Giuseppe.

Seth Blight: 31 years old, younger brother of Daren. Some men just refuse to give up, no matter how dire the circumstances they find themselves facing. Seth Blight is one such man. Even after being stabbed in the neck and left for dead, he found a way to survive. When ONI and the UNSC tried to hold him responsible for the entire Gelida Crisis, he found a way to escape the charges. What Blight wants, more than anything else, is recognition and respect, and he’s willing to go to extreme lengths to get it.

Costello Pierce: [Deceased] 34, older brother of Desmond. Formerly a member of Jim Branson’s team, he was bribed to work for Relict and his cabal. He had an adversarial relationship with Jim, a rivalry that came to an end when Jim killed him. He was recently returned to life by the efforts of his brother, but the process seems to have had a detrimental impact on his psychological state.

Desmond Pierce: 28, younger brother of Costello. Desmond was an obedient, unremarkable, rank-and-file Spartan… until he learned of his brother’s death. He went rogue, and made his way to Gelida. After allying himself briefly with Lilian Shade, he acquired the remaining vestiges of Relict’s immortality serum, and used them to resurrect his sibling.

Julien Vex: Vex’s true age, family, and history is a mystery unto itself. Given how long he and his band of mercenaries have been in operation, the prevailing theory is that the name ‘Julien Vex’ is a title that has been worn by numerous mercs over the years, each one taking advantage of the legend that the others have left behind. The current incarnation of Vex has maintained a lower profile than his predecessors – the true extent of his manpower and resources are unknown, and he’s diverged significantly from the pattern of his forbears by accepting jobs on the behalf of ONI and the UNSC as well.

Jazmine: The daughter of the current ‘Julien Vex’, little is known about this young woman beyond her first name. Youthful and carefree, she at some point learned about her father’s true profession, and journeyed to Antares to confront him about it. It’s believed that she’s had some manner of military training, due to her proficiency in battle.

Ilyn Freeman: 41, no familial connections of note. Formerly enlisted in the UNSC as a frontline sniper, Corporal Freeman was released from service after a mission gone wrong, where the squad he was supporting were entirely wiped out. Although Ilyn was cleared of any wrongdoing, he requested a medical discharge, citing psychological trauma. Evidently, he had difficulty adjusting back to civilian life, because he soon began making a name for himself as a gun for hire, eventually falling in with Julien Vex.

Matthew Shade: [Deceased] 29, younger brother of Raymond, older brother of Lilian. A greedy, childish, over-ambitious officer stationed on Gelida, he started working with local criminal elements on an elaborate plan to conquer the planet. He plotted and carried out the murders of several UNSC officers to quickly ascend the chain of command, and started using his squad of marines for less-than-legal operations. In the end, his schemes were ruined by Jim Branson and Carlos Giuseppe, who brought his life to an explosive end.

Raymond Shade: 32, older brother of Matthew and Lilian. Shade has developed something of an obsession with Jim Branson and Carlos Giuseppe. At first, he claimed he only wanted revenge for their killing of his brother, but the connection clearly runs deeper than that. He has proven himself as tenacious as he is resourceful, coming back from dozens of defeats that would have deterred or killed a lesser man. His true motives and goals – if he even has any – are as clear as mud. Perhaps he realises just how important the pair are… and wants to be part of that importance… or maybe he just loves sowing chaos.

Lilian Shade: 24, younger sister of Raymond and Matthew. The youngest of the Shade siblings, Lilian enlisted to join the UNSC, and quickly rose to prominence as an elite soldier. After Matthew’s death, she became bitter, and while she wanted revenge on those who had taken her brother away from her, she trusted that her oldest sibling, Raymond, would be able to accomplish that task on her behalf. But after months of waiting, not only were Jim Branson and Carlos Giuseppe still alive, they were now considered heroes of the UNSC. With Raymond missing in action, Lilian set out to find her own vengeance.

Super-Flood Alpha: The first, and most powerful, of the Super-Flood on Gelida, this creature is the monster that started it all. It was the first foe that Jim and Carlos ever faced during their adventures, and its persistent refusal to die continues to haunt them.

Mr Doyle: Formerly known as Braggart T. Doyle, this man was once a privateer for the royal navy during the golden age of Pyrates. After being exposed to the remains of a broken High Elven time scrying device, he was cursed with an extended lifespan, and visions of the future. For centuries, he languished on Earth, unable to do anything to prevent the future he saw, but once the means became available for him to leave the planet – and later, travel to other dimensions entirely – he began working on a plan to change fate.

Carlos Giuseppe: 28 years old, son of Lucio and Emilia, younger brother of Marco – also has a younger half-sister, Sofia. He was formerly a private in the UNSC marines, until he resigned from military service and went rogue. He resurfaced after the death of his mother, and was eventually recruited into the ONI Oversight Division, where he was partnered with Agent Meridian. During the battle of Antares, many of his friends were killed, including Jim and Amy, which pushed his already-unstable psyche over the edge. He went mad with rage and grief, and was ultimately incarcerated for his own safety, and that of others. He languished in prison for many years, before vanishing from his cell, somehow winding up in the Timeless Plains, where he subsequently infiltrated the Mega-Verse, stranding that dimension’s version of Carlos in the Plains in his place.

Dragons: Ancient, paradoxical beings hailing from an era that predates the concepts of time and existence, these creatures are as powerful as they are ancient, many of them bearing titles that reflect their power or accomplishments. Eons ago, a group that came to be called the ‘Corrupted’ ravaged the multiverse, conquering and destroying as they pleased, laying waste to stars and civilisations. Others, who dubbed themselves ‘Enlightened’, stood against the savagery of their kin. Eventually, the Dragon race succumbed to a mass extinction, leaving only a few survivors, who scattered across the cosmos, retreating into the lower levels of reality, where their descendants were twisted and warped by the rigours of infinity.

Rutilus – the Illustrious Hound: with skin of crimson and armour of gold, this beast straddles the borderline dividing savagery and resplendence. Though he carries himself with an air of confidence and regality, he is little more than a glorified bloodhound, only his keen tracking skills elevating him above the rest of the low-ranking dregs of dragon-kind.

Heliostrafe – the Sorrowless Sunslayer: one of the most renowned warriors among the dragons of old, Heliostrafe is equal parts ferocious and intelligent. She bears the ability to drain the heat and light from external sources to augment her own emerald flames, a power that she has used to extinguish suns and bathe planets in annihilation.

Terager – the Living Blade: a soldier adept in savagery, Terager’s scales are edged in metal, partially armouring him from attack… and turning his wings into deadly scythes.

Glaryu – the Unrelenting Avalanche: a stocky, muscular beast, this frost-spitting dragon is possessed of immense strength and durability. He is somewhat lacking in intellect or ambition, seeming content to endure his existence as a living battering ram.

Trefalkyr – the Maker of Gates: though large and imposing, this dragon chose not to rampage across the galaxy or wage war against those who did. He chose the life of a labourer and architect, designing and constructing shelters, fortresses, and prisons for his fellow dragons.

Sether – the Crippled Commander: Once a military leader among the ranks of the Enlightened, Sether was wounded in a fierce battle, desiccating her right arm, and leaving her in constant agony. No longer able to lead or to fight, she went into exile, hiding himself away in the place that would come to be known as the Timeless Plains.

Scauld – the Noble Matron: in any kind of conflict, innocents are inevitably caught in the crossfire. When the Corrupted and Enlightened battled, there were some on both sides who thought about destroy the young of their enemies, to prevent them from recruiting more hatchlings to their cause. Scauld, a neutral party in the conflict, devoted herself to the protection of these innocent, defenceless eggs and hatchlings, on both sides. In the time since the end of the war, she has retreated into hiding, fiercely protecting a cache of hibernating eggs whose parents never returned from battle.

Brimer – the Searer of Souls: touting himself as something of a torturer, Brimer’s flames are unique in that they can only burn that which is intangible – thoughts, memories, emotions – while leaving objects and being physically unharmed. Over time, he has grown quite skilled in the exploitation of this ability, meticulously disassembling the psyches of his victims, or simply incinerating their very souls.

Quick question for those of you who've been around longer - what's the acceptable standard for blood, death, etc. in a comic?

The posting guidelines pretty much say 'none', but I've noticed a little bit in some of the other comics.

Pools of blood or anything liquid that is the color of blood will not be accepted.
I would recommend staying away from any blood and excessive violent deaths.
