About the project
Also, when it gets cold, that's my favorite weather. I come from a long line of people too stupid to move to a warmer climate on one side of my family, and the other side of my family is composed of Appalachian mountaineers. This means that I'm more comfortable in cold, cold weather and unbelievably uncomfortable in anything over 75 degree weather. 45-60 is prime short pants and a t-shirt weather for me. Also, since one of my cats has a permanent lung problem, she breathes better when it gets cold. The other cat is built for cold weather too, so he prefers it to be cold as well.
With all that in mind, I have some bad news for the two of you that actually pay attention to my posts. Pretty soon, I will have made the last of this year's customs. You may not know this, but my hobby is seasonal. My paint just doesn't dry right below 60 degrees, and I'm not about to destroy the house to paint inside. I'll probably make posts every now and then, but I am going to go relatively dormant soon. I'm hoping to get the remaining 15 or so customs I have left done before I have to stop, but I honestly don't know when it will get too cold to paint.
Also, the Grunts I pay to mix my paint, clean my brushes, and take care of the cats while I paint won't work when it gets cold, despite the little scarves I made for them. They prefer to stay inside and watch reruns of Matlock all day when it's cold outside.
Time to A some Qs:
Muto112 asks: "What is your favorite custom from each user you have seen?"
kingcastlesieger asks: "Where did you get the idea for the 405th?"
Answer: To be honest, that's a tall order. I don't really know how to answer the specific question from Muto, but I will give a top three of my favorite customs (first is favorite, third is least favorite, although I really like all of them.) Ask for kingcastlesieger, his answer is in the description for why I picked number one:
3. Febuary's Custom Spartan Entry. This is by far the best Halo 4 Master Chief I have seen on the Gallery.
2. WhoThCares' Marine Sniper Team: I am a sucker for realistic camo, despite how I tend to try and give my figures G.I. Joe Style camouflage to make the camo stand out. Something about the camo on the Sniper Team figures just hits the "I like this button" in my brain, making them one of my favorite customs on the Gallery.
1. Just_some_guy's Scout of Echo-4. I don't know what it is about this figure, but I absolutely love it. I love it so much that I decided to replicate it. While I was replicating it, however, I decided for myself that imitation was not in fact the sincerest form of flattery. I had the revelation about halfway through making he figure, so I already had the basic body type (only this ODST was male, because I didn't have an extra female torso). I was scrambling about what to do to change the figure up when it hit me: Make a Wastelander ODST figure.
I'll let you all in on another secret, the genesis of the removable gear on all of my 405th figures came from a brief flash of stupidity that I had while making the figure. I thought to myself, I wonder if I can make this extra Hayabusa sword a sheath that actually looks good. I grabbed some materials and got to work. I must confess that I went rather overboard, and the final figure ended up with a sword, pistol, knife, and three grenades that were removable in addition to his standard weapon, a kitbashed SMG.
I didn't actually have a backstory for this figure until after I had painted him (I had already painted the "405" on his chest before I came up with the backstory. The backstory came to me as I was walking back to the house from taking pictures of the figure.
