About the project
If you're wondering why I didn't just mass sparrows, it's because the sparrows cost almost as much as this set on Amazon (French version).
Basically, this was a better price-to-part ratio.
Let me make this abundantly clear:
Don't buy this set as a toy...
It's an overall great build, but if you want a toy, don't.
The build is incredibly fragile.
The legs are incredibly hard to move around, and will generally fall off before you can position them differently.
I've never played Destiny, and I don't plan to.
The game in my opinion, is basically an insult to gamers.
Now, for all of my gripes with the games, the Fallen Captains are the only four-armed figures Mega has made so far.
I was not disappointed a lot with the set, aside from the fragility as I already pointed out.
It's great for displaying as a collection piece, and both of the figures are incredibly well detailed although the shoulder armour for the Captain is pretty easy to knock off.
As far as I've been able to gather from watching a couple of clips on YouTube, the "tank" is a little scaled down but still an impressive size next to a figure up you see it in person.
The set itself has 689 pieces so I spent my Saturday building with 1378 pieces...
Yes, it didn't fit on my desk so I had to build on the floor, my kneecaps are currently jelly.
The terrain stands for the figures are quite impractical, they're hard to assimilate into a diorama, but I made it work.
Now, the Fallen Walker has a light brick that can be activated through a push of a nicely built in and hidden mechanism, but I'll say it again: don't buy this for a toy.
It pretty much just serves to simulate the damage-control mode ingame where the protective canopy slides back to expose the vulnerable core.
The drone that can be "deployed" from the Walker is a simple yet satisfactory build.
It's the same red as Banished vehicles from the Halo line so you could also use it as a Banished drone, I guess.
Finally, many people refer to this as a "tank".
Ingame it is even used by the Fallen as an assault vehicle...
I have a problem with that; the overall shape of the main body resembles more of an Artillery vehicle than an assault one, and the length of the canon just reinforces that feeling, not to mention it can only angle down a few degrees, much like modern artillery pieces.
This really should just be an artillery support vehicle, no wonder the Fallen are slowly being wiped out...
