About the project
Hornets and Falcons were increasingly effective in urban air support operations but fell short in pitched dogfights against the more maneuverable, and numerous, banshees and phaetons. Fleet came up with the idea of creating a small VTOL aircraft that had enough firepower and maneuverability to engage multiple, and more nimble, enemy aircraft. What resulted was, essentially, a smaller pelican. Either wing can pivot to direct the thrust created by the engines which enables the vehicle to quickly change direction while hovering or flying. Each wing, however, has hard points where multiple weapons are attached; the wings have to be level to the line of sight of the gunner before the weapons can fired effectively.
Built in small numbers it was eventually set aside and designated as a prototype for future craft of similar roles.
Two crew members are needed, one pilot (controls flight and weapons), one spotter (controls tactical awareness modules and comms). Armed with three 15mm autocannons and 2 2cm missile launchers.
The idea was to use the parts of the blue falcon ONLY. I tried changing the configuration of the cockpit and doing away with the triangles that flanked the canopy, but no matter how many times I tried it still didn't look good; I needed more parts if I was to configure the cockpit in a design that was different from the falcon. I ended up just shortening the falcon and trying to jam as much detail in the wings. The only parts here that aren't from the falcon are those missile launcher barrels.
