Building is coming with an all-new line of Game of Thrones construction sets

We thought SDCC would be the perfect place to share the news, but sometimes leaks happen.

But going off the reaction, it didn’t matter – you guys are excited to learn the news and we’re even more excited to be partnering with HBO to produce officially-licensed Game of Thrones construction sets.

Made just for fans, our sets will provide authentically designed building experiences that are unrivaled in the construction category, with highly-articulated micro action figures and iconic, ultra-detailed locations from the record-breaking TV series.

Check it out: We’ve designed a buildable Drogon that measures 2-feet long, with a (just under) 3-foot wingspan and real fabric wings. At 735 pieces, we’ve even thrown in a Daenerys micro action figure with 12 points of articulation.

Then there’s the buildable diorama that recreates the epic confrontation between Jon Snow and the Night King beyond the wall. This 256-piece set also features a third micro action figure, a wight, for Snow to catch.

Now, if you’re lucky enough to attend San Diego Comic Con this year, you’re in for something special. Located within the Red Keep Mattel’s booth, we’ve built a life-size replica of the Iron Throne. It took 4 builders 10 weeks to complete, with a total of 101,800 bricks, so bend the knee. You’ll be able to take a seat and have your picture taken – but if and only if you have what it takes to rule.

In addition to this fantasy photo-op, we’ve also designed a beautifully-crafted Game of Thrones diorama encased in a shimmering globe. The scene will encapture the world of Westeros in brick form and will showcase our upcoming sets – but more importantly – it will also tease future sets to be on the lookout for. It’s all about the fanfare and, rest assured, it will be a sight to behold.

Want more? Pre-orders for our new Fall 2019 Game of Thrones sets begin this week through gamestop.com and amazon.com, ahead of their release this September.

We look forward to seeing you there, and if you won’t be able to make it this year, be sure to frequent our forum as we reveal more details about our new Game of Thrones collectibles as they become available.

Enjoy the con. Dracarys!

Not a GOT fan, but I see LOTS of custom medieval fantasy potential here!

Wow, certainly didn't expect this license! Mega dominates in the mini figure line so it's fantastic they are coming out with a slew of pop culture items. Keep it coming Mega! (PS: I'd still like to see more TMNT Classics come out :) )
