By the Power of Grayskull!

The Mega Construx Castle Grayskull offers unprecedented detail, challenge, nostalgia and a one-of-a-kind building experience!

The Mega Construx Masters of the Universe Castle Grayskull is the largest set we’ve ever produced with more than 3,500 bricks and pieces. To call this set “detailed” would be a huge understatement.

For fans of building, this set offers an unrivaled challenge, incorporating new and advanced building techniques. And for MOTU fans, we’ve worked extra hard to honor the legacy of this classic 80s set – our Castle Grayskull will take you right back to your Saturday morning cartoons (after these messages).

Constructing Grayskull
To build this iconic fortress, our Design Team had to incorporate unconventional and advanced building techniques. For example, to recreate the curved wall as it appears in the original castle, our designers created an interlocking woven pattern that connects curved brick pieces with single-stud bricks. It took much trial-and-error to get it right, as the project was passed along to numerous designers before completion, but the end result was well worth it.

But that’s not the only innovation in this set. We also built a jutting castle façade that replicates the uneven stone of the original Castle Grayskull. The final effect is a textured feel that adds a heightened sense of realism. On top of that, our Jawbridge is activated using a “push-hinge” mechanic. To lower the bridge, stick the Power Sword into the keyhole. And, to manage your time, we’ve broken the build into modules, incorporating our new build-by-step system (with numbered bags!) to give you organic stopping points.

You already know that we make the most authentically designed micro action figures in the construction toy aisle. But for Castle Grayskull we wanted to make the most detailed weapons too. That’s why we created a custom mold specifically for the 12 weapons included in the set. Inside the box (this MASSIVE box) you’ll find accessory shapes, colors and designs that are exclusive to this set.

Honoring Grayskull
Our Castle Grayskull has everything you remember about the iconic fortress: working Jawbridge that’s activated by the Power Sword, working elevator and, of course, working trap door. We even went as far as recreating the castle’s carry handle just to respect the look of the original set And, on top of that, we reproduced the original stickers found on the trap door, carpet and castle’s flags. Finally, we created a brand-new brick color to replicate that of the original castle. We call it Grayskull Green.

In some cases, we took a few liberties. We’ve replaced the original carboard weapons rack with a buildable version. Same goes for the jail cell’s tentacles and the control panel, they’re both buildable now. Spoiler alert: We’ve included the castle’s orb, too; it’s hidden somewhere within Grayskull’s walls. And speaking of spoilers, our castle features two hidden entrances (but we’ll let you find those on your own).

Of course, Castle Grayskull wouldn’t be complete without some micro action figures. We’ve thrown in six and they are all unique to this set: Sorceress is available for the first time and comes with Zoar the Eagle. Then we have He-Man, Skeletor, Man-At-Arms, Beast Man and the Goddess, each featuring exclusive decoration based on their appearance in the mini comic series.

Mega Grayskull
It has been passionately recreated, brick by brick, it is purposefully challenging and it is the perfect showcase for both your MOTU and construction set display case. You’ll get to build in all new ways and you get to experience Castle Grayskull like never before. So hold aloft your magic sword because now you have the power.
