Closer Look: NYCC Big Builds

As you may know, at Mega we like to build things, and sometimes these things are big… VERY big. In fact, we have a whole team dedicated to creating larger-than-life builds! You most likely have seen one of their awesome creations at a convention, on our social media, or even at a local retailer!

This year for New York Comic Con, our creative team set out to build several Destiny® and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles™ props for our fans to take pictures with, and even hold!

For Destiny, they built the:

Iron Banner

Gjallarhorn

Invective

Suros Regime

... and they're all nicely displayed in our head office!

For the Turtles, they built

• Donnie’s Bo,
• Leo’s Twin Katana,
• Raph’s Sai,
• Mikey’s Nunchaku,
• a canister of mutagen, and
• a TMNT photo opp wall.

Here are some fun facts about the TMNT™ Photo Opp Wall:

There are a total of 133 792 blocks on the surface.
There are 1824 plates underneath that, so you have a grand total of 135,616 blocks (wow)!
The wall took 4 people around 5 weeks to design and build.
