Mega Construx™ SDCC 2018 Recap

Another San Diego Comic Con has come and gone. Sigh. But with it, we got to experience so much construction toy magic that we just have to take a minute to review (and catch our breath).

This year, Mega Construx™ plastered our showroom wall-to-wall with your favorite Pokémon. That’s right; we hosted a Pokémon takeover inside the Mattel booth that, in the world of construction toys, had never been seen before!

We created some HUGE custom builds featuring a fan-favorite evolution series! Attendees got up close and personal Squirtle and Wartortle, but one Pokémon in particular stole the show… a massive, towering Blastoise!

But that’s not all, our intrepid creative shop constructed a beautiful, buildable brick sculpture that showcased an entire world of Pokémon! In fact, it featured so many iconic Pokémon that it was almost impossible to count all of them. Almost.

If you were fortunate enough to be in attendance, and made it to our booth, you could find our SDCC exclusive, 2018 limited-edition Gengar building set.

Most importantly of all, though, we love SDCC because it gives us the chance to meet you, our fans. We got to share our passion first-hand, in arguably the best pop culture gathering place of them all!

To sum it all up, SDCC 2018 was an incredible, huge success and a one-of-a-kind experience. We can’t wait to do it all over next year. And we can’t wait to see you there!
